Los Misfits son una de las bandas más grosas del punk rock. Y Metallica, se sabe, es quizás la banda más grande de heavy metal de todas. ¿Qué sucede cuando una decide homenajear a la otra? ¡La magia aparece en cantidades industriales!

Como ya especifiqué en otro post más atrás en el tiempo, un cover es algo que debe encararse con sumo cuidado. No hay nada más irrespetuoso para el oyente (y para la banda homenajeada) que un cover mal hecho. Pero se trata de Metallica en los '80, ¡¿qué podía fallar!?

Este EP resultó el primer testimonio de estudio que existe de los tiempos en que el gran Jason Newsted se desempeñaba como bajista en la gran M. Sin duda, no es Cliff, pero es un excelente bajista. Una lástima que sería víctima de las constantes jodas de Hetfield y Ulrich.

Una de ellas es fácilmente apreciable: notarán que en el discazo ...And Justice For All el bajo no se escucha para nada...

Sin duda, nuestro queridísimo Glenn Danzig estaría más que orgulloso de este cover. La magia que ya contenían estos dos temazos de los Misfits se añade a la furia thrasher de la M, aumentándola a niveles insospechados.

Ah, y atentos a la melodía del final, jajaja :)
