¡El juego de las diferencias! - IX

Esta vez no vamos a señalar ningún plagio, ya que el tema es exactamente el mismo: el himno "I Fought The Law". Lo que sí vamos a señalar son las diferencias entre dos versiones.

No, no nos estamos haciendo los audiófilos/elitistas musicales al intentar dilucidar diferencias entre sonidos (por ejemplo, como intentan hacer con las nuevas remasterizaciones de los Beatles comparando formatos MP3 y FLAC, fardando sobre cómo se escuchan "todos los sonidos", y huevadas por el estilo). Estas versiones difieren en la letra.

La primera (la de los legendarios The Clash) respeta la versión original. La segunda (de los igualmente legendarios Dead Kennedys) es mucho más mordaz, y se refiere al asesinato de George Moscone (alcalde de San Francisco a finales de los '70) y Harvey Milk (Supervisor de la Ciudad y activista de los derechos de los homosexuales). Ambos fueron asesinados por Dan White, quien había estado en el puesto de Milk.

En su juicio White usó lo que luego se llamó "la defensa Twinkie", donde clamaba estar profundamente deprimido por haber renunciado al puesto, cosa que se veía al dejar sus hábitos alimenticios sanos por comida chatarra (de ahí el nombre, los Twinkies no tienen fama de ser saludables), y alegaba que su salud mental no estaba bien por esa razón. Resultado: la Justicia yanki se lo traga y le otorgan una pena menor. Ay...
